Senior Commercial HVAC Technician

REC Industries is launching a dedicated commercial service division in San Antonio.  We are looking for a senior technician who wants a seat at the table – not just another truck in the fleet.

You will help shape service procedures, training standards, equipment selection, and the future culture of the department.

This position is ideal for a senior commercial HVAC technician ready to step into leadership without leaving the field.

New take-home service truck fully outfitted and stocked with new tools, technology, and equipment allowance.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Service Work

• 100% Commercial and Industrial Work
• Industries include office buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial facilities, manufacturing, and institutional clients.
• Equipment: Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Chillers, RTU’s up to 100+ tons, VAV systems, boilers and hydronic systems, Cooling towers, Pumps and VFD’s, BAS systems
• Perform advanced commercial and industrial HVAC troubleshooting and repairs
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues
• Lead complex service calls and system evaluations
• Ensure work meets safety, quality, and performance standards

Leadership & Training

• Train, mentor, and support HVAC apprentices
• Lead by example in the field with professionalism and technical excellence
• Assist with onboarding and ongoing apprentice development

Customer & Operations Support

• Communicate clearly with commercial and industrial customers
• Provide recommendations, repair explanations, and service updates
• Assist with service documentation, estimates, and reporting
• Coordinate with operations and project teams as needed
• Will be the lead point of contact for the service tech team
• Review work orders and billings
• Coordinate all training for the service division

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC service experience
• Basic computer skills and ability to use service software
• Experience using mobile field service applications preferred
• Strong troubleshooting experience with:
  
  • Chillers, Package Units and Split Systems
  • Boilers, pumps, and hydronic systems
  • Electrical systems and mechanical controls
• Ability to work independently and lead in the field
• Experience training or mentoring technician
• EPA Universal Certification
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• TDLR Technician Registration Card
